Amazing Abu Dhabi resorts

During my Abu Dhabi mega famil last month we were spoilt with some amazing resort stays. Here’s a look at some of my favourites from the trip.

Qasr al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara

A two hour transfer from Abu Dhabi airport, this resort is definitely one for the bucket list. Surrounded by desert dunes of the Empty Quarter, this 5-star castle resort was like nothing I had ever experienced before. The pool was one of the largest resort pools in the world and overlooked the desert. The resort had plenty of activities to offer including desert walks, camel trekking, desert dune drives, yoga, tennis, horse riding and desert fat bike riding.

Emirates Palace

This 7-star palace resort takes luxury to a new level. Every last feature is magnificent especially the Grand Atrium dome, one of the largest in the world. The resort has an east and west wing both with their own pool – one more suited for families and the other more for couples. We received a bouquet of roses and a personalised letter on check in which made us feel really special. The key to the door was a silver coin. We enjoyed a set menu under the stars at seafood restaurant Sayad followed by a cocktail at Hakkasan bar. We really didn’t have enough time at this magical palace so I will be back.

Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat al Beri

We were at the Shangri-La for two nights so got to experience a little more than most other hotels. The buffet was very enjoyable and the infinity pool overlooked the stunning Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque across the gulf. There was a small souk next door selling local perfume, jewellery, clothing, souvenirs and more, and a boat that took hotel guests around the canals of the resort.

Four Seasons

We had the pleasure of visiting the Four Seasons hotel on Al Maryah Island which has been open less than a year. The hotel’s decor is very chic and feminine which I loved. The foyer had flower arrangements and gold statues of the seven Emirati’s. We enjoyed a set lunch here which was very enjoyable after so many buffets.

Marriott Downtown

The Marriott was the only downtown hotel we visited and was very new, only being open one month at time of visiting. I loved the modern feel about this hotel and the amazing lobby chandelier which hung from floors above. This hotel had it’s own sports bar, JW steakhouse and an indoor rooftop pool.

We visited over 10 hotels and resorts on this trip and all were so amazing and luxurious. I was definitely spoilt.

Stay tuned for my next wander!
