Second home
A couple of weekends ago I took advantage of an RDO Monday and headed to Melbourne for the weekend to catch up with my cousins.
Melbourne always feels like home and a weekend there is never enough! It’s got me questioning why the move to Brisbane, when I love Melbourne so much more.
The weekend had a bit of brunching, wine, shopping and family catch ups.
I went to brunch at St Ali with my cousin and her boyfriend in South Melbourne. Set amongst the street art of Yarra Place, St Ali has a range of filtered coffee specials, although I stuck to the usual skinny latte. I ate the My Mexican Cousin dish which had the most delicious corn fritters I’ve eaten, poached eggs and haloumi!
We went for a wander along Brunswick Street in Fitzroy which has a good mix of alternate stores, cafes, restaurants and bars, and enjoyed a rooftop Tempranillo at Naked for Satan overlooking the Melbourne city skyline.
And the day wasn’t over yet, it ended with a mouth watering almond croissant from Lune Croissanterie!
To the other side of town, I brunched in Prahran at Tall Timber with other cousins. I went real healthy here and ate the Super Green Salad breakfast with poached egg, avocado and feta, a fresh Prahran refresher juice and coffee of course.
It was such a nice weekend getting a dose of family time, and hopefully it won’t be too long til I’m back for some more.
