Ready for Christmas holidays
It’s been a couple of years since I had Christmas and New Years off so I am so looking forward to my upcoming staycation.
With three days left of work and counting, I decided to take the time off this year to spend with family and friends in case I did move away next year and didn’t know when my next Christmas in Perth would be.
So what have I got planned?
Following a busy weekend of Christmas parties with work colleagues and friends, Christmas Eve is being spent at my dad’s house with seafood on the menu and Christmas night is being spent at my mum’s house with a barbecue menu.
Traditionally we would have the big extended family catch ups with endless food of pasta, roast pork and beef, ham, cutlets, arancini, vegetables, salads, antipasto and more, but this year it’s being kept nice and simple which I like in one sense as it will be relaxing, but let’s be honest I enjoy the Italian famiglia craziness.
Christmas morning I’m heading to the beach with my sister, her husband and my nephew cause why not? We have such amazing beaches, it’s summer time in Australia and what better way to start the day than some time out by the water.
Following the Christmas food hangover, Boxing Day is a little uncertain for now. I might be drawn to the shops but there’s nothing I really need so that could wait til the following days. It will probably be something social with friends or family by the beach.
I’m also heading to Rottnest on one day with my housemates and some of their New Zealand friends and on New Year’s Day I will be celebrating with friends at Cuban Club for the first time which I’m looking forward to.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and safe and happy holidays. See you in the new year.
