40 hours in Sydney

I spent a crazy 40 hours in Sydney last weekend for my annual work conference and ball.

We landed Friday night at 10.30pm and departed Sunday at 2pm and with the conference Saturday from 10am to 4pm and the ball Saturday night from 7.30pm, there wasn’t a lot of free time.

But I made the most of the time I had and spent any spare time in the Sydney winter sunshine. We stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Darling Harbour so Friday night when we arrived we went for a walk around the harbour to get something to eat.

I also wandered around the harbour Saturday after conference and enjoyed the atmosphere, scenery, buskers, flavours and sounds of the area.

Our ball was at Dockside Pavilion in Darling Harbour and was Gatsby themed so we all dressed up in of flappers, lace, feathers and pearls. After the ball we had the after party at The Watershed where we danced like nobody was watching.

On Sunday I took an uber to Circular Quay and caught up with a friend for a latte and light breakfast at Opera Kitchen. It was so nice to be out in the sunshine between two great landmarks – Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

After my catch up I walked through the city past Martin Place to Pitt Street Mall before wandering back to my hotel.

It was a whirlwind weekend of not much sleep but it was a lot of fun, only wish I didn’t drink so much!
